PITTSBURGH 8 – N.Y. Mets 2… Oneil Cruz went 3-for-5 with a two-run homer and the Pirates rolled past the Mets. Rodolfo Castro also homered with a runner aboard. Mitch Keller (5-10) pitched five-hit ball over six scoreless innings.
PHILADELPHIA 3 – Miami 2… Jean Segura singled home Bryce Harper with the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning to lift the Phillies over the Marlins. Edmundo Sosa went 2-for-2 with a solo homer.
CHI. CUBS 9 – Cincinnati 3… The Cubs cruised past the Reds after spotting them an early two-run lead. Seiya Suzuki hit a go-ahead two-run homer in the bottom of the fifth inning. Ian Happ also went deep. Nick Madrigal and Christopher Morel stroked two-run singles. Hayden Wesneski (1-0) allowed just two hits over five innings in relief of starter Wade Miley.
ST. LOUIS 4 – Washington 1… Brandon Donovan sparked a three-run bottom of the third inning with a leadoff homer and the Cardinals breezed past the Nationals. Nolan Gorman also went deep for St. Louis. Jose Quintana (5-6) gave up a run on five hits over five innings.
COLORADO 10 – Milwaukee 7 (10 innings)… Yonathan Daza doubled home a tying run and Randal Grichuk followed with a three-run homer in the top of the 10th inning as the Rockies put away the Brewers. Daza cracked a three-run homer and Grichuk added a game-tying solo shot in the eighth. Alan Trejo went 3-for-4 with an RBI single.
SAN DIEGO – Arizona – SAN DIEGO… Jorge Alfaro’s two-out, two-run single in the bottom of the ninth inning gave the Padres a walkoff win over the Diamondbacks. Jake Cronenworth homered with a runner aboard. Ha-Seong Kim and Josh Bell hit solo homers.
L.A. DODGERS 6 – San Francisco 3… Max Muncy went 3-for-4 with a pair of homers and three RBIs as the Dodgers doubled up on the Giants. Joey Gallo knocked in L.A.’s other three runs with a homer in the bottom of the second inning. Tyler Anderson (14-3) surrendered three runs on eight hits over seven innings.
AMERICAN LEAGUE
TAMPA BAY 8 – Boston 4… Randy Arozarena went 3-for-4 with a three-run homer and three runs scored in leading the Rays past the Red Sox. Yu Chang and Christian Bethancourt hit solo homers for Tampa Bay. Harold Ramírez stroked a two-run single.
BALTIMORE 9 – Toronto 6… Ryan Mountcastle singled home a go-ahead run in the bottom of the third inning and added a two-run single to cap a three-run bottom of the eighth as the Orioles outslugged the Blue Jays. Adley Reutschman lined a two-run double. Anthony Santander also had two RBIs.
Cleveland 4 – KANSAS CITY 1… Shane Bieber (9-8) held the Royals to a run on four hits over eight innings and the Guardians handled the Royals. Jose Ramirez’s two-run single in the top of the third inning provided Cleveland with all the offense it needed.
Texas 4 – HOUSTON 3… Mark Mathias drew a bases-loaded walk in the top of the seventh inning to force home Corey Seager with a go-ahead run and the Rangers hung on to edge the Astros. Ezequiel Duran opened the scoring in the second with a two-run double and came around to score on Sam Huff’s single.
L.A. ANGELS 5 – Detroit 4 (10 innings)… The Angels scored twice in the bottom of the 10th inning to top the Tigers after blowing a three-run lead. Sierra’s bunt single brought home Velazquez with the winning run. A throwing error by Detroit shortstop Javier Baez allowed Taylor Ward to score the tying run. Mike Trout, Mike Ford and Jo Adell homered for L.A.
SEATTLE 3 – Chi. White Sox 0… Logan Gilbert (12-5) pitched five-hit ball over six innings and three relievers completed the Mariners’ shutout of the White Sox. Cal Raleigh cracked a two-run homer for Seattle.
Minnesota – N.Y. YANKEES – Minnesota (ppd)… Rain in New York forced postponement of last night’s Twins-Yankees game. It will be made up today as part of a doubleheader.
INTERLEAGUE
Atlanta 10 – OAKLAND 9… The Braves jumped out to an early five-run lead but needed Austin Riley’s sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth inning to get past the Athletics. Matt Olson belted a three-run homer. Vaughn Grissom went 4-for-5 with a two-run single
