Milwaukee 6 – COLORADO 4… Victor Caratini’s belted a tie-breaking three-run homer in the top of the sixth inning and the Brewers held off the Rockies. Jace Peterson doubled home a run and lifted a sacrifice fly. Adrian Houser (5-9) allowed three runs on two hits over five innings. Only one of the runs he allowed was earned.
Washington 6 – ST. LOUIS 0… Anibal Sanchez (2-5) pitched two-hit ball over five innings and two Nationals relievers completed the shutout of the Cardinals. Keibert Ruiz went 2-for-3 with a solo homer. CJ Abrams had four hits and scored twice.
Arizona 5 – SAN DIEGO 0… Diamondbacks starter Ryne Nelson held the Padres to four hits over seven innings and got help from two relievers in the shutout win. Christian Walker stroked a two-run single. Stone Garrett homered with the bases empty. Alek Thomas knocked in two runs.
San Francisco 7 – L.A. DODGERS 4… Lewis Brinson homered twice and drove in three runs as the Giants powered their way past the Dodgers. David Villar homered with a runner aboard. Thairo Estrada and J.D. Davis added solo blasts. Logan Webb (12-8) surrendered three runs on seven hits over six innings. One of the runs he allowed was unearned.
N.Y. Mets – PITTSBURGH (ppd)… Rain in Pittsburgh forced postponement of yesterday’s Mets-Pirates game. It will be made up today as part of a split doubleheader.
AMERICAN LEAGUE
Toronto 7 – BALTIMORE 3… Bo Bichette banged out three hits and drove in two runs as the Blue Jays cruised past the Orioles in the opener of a doubleheader. George Springer went 3-for-5 with a run-scoring single. Teoscar Hernández homered with the bases empty. Kevin Gausman (11-9) gave up two runs on seven hits over 6-2/3 innings.
Toronto 8 – BALTIMORE 4… Bo Bichette hit three home runs and knocked in five runs to power the Blue Jays past the Orioles for a sweep of the twinbill. Cavan Biggio also went deep. Jerry Bradley Jr. lined a two-run double. Jose Berrios (10-5) allowed three runs on eight hits over six innings. One of the runs he allowed was unearned.
N.Y. YANKEES 5 – Minnesota 2… Aaron Judge hit a tie-breaking two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth inning and Isiah Kiner-Falefa added a solo shot in the seventh as the Yankees put away the Twins. Marwin Gonzalez also went deep for New York.
TAMPA BAY 4 – Boston 3… Manuel Margot doubled home the tying run in the top of the seventh inning and scored the decisive run on David Peralta’s double as the Rays rallied past the Red Sox. Harold Ramirez singled home a run for Tampa Bay and Randy Arozarena doubled home another.
Chi. White Sox 3 – SEATTLE 2… Elvis Andrus broke a 1-1 tie with a two-run homer in the top of the third inning and the White Sox hung on to edge the Mariners. AJ Pollock put Chicago on the board with a second-inning homer. Lance Lynn (5-5) surrendered just an unearned run on three hits and struck out 11 over seven innings.
HOUSTON 1 – Texas 0… Hunter Brown (1-0) limited the Rangers to three hits over six innings and three relievers held them hitless the rest of the say in the Astros’ shutout win. Martin Maldonado’s single off tough-luck loser Martin Pérez (10-6) in the bottom of the second inning scored Trey Mancini with the game’s only run.
Cleveland 6 – KANSAS CITY 5 (10 innings)… Oscar Gonzalez came through with a two-run double in the top of the 10th inning and the Guardians held on to outlast the Royals. Josh Naylor homered to lead off the sixth for Cleveland. Matt Straw had a couple of hits and an RBI.
L.A. ANGELS 10 – Detroit 0… Shohei Ohtani went 3-for-5 with a pair of homers and three RBIs to lead the Angels in their shellacking of the Tigers. Mike Trout led off the bottom of the fifth inning with his 30th homer. Luis Rengifo had four hits, including a run-scoring single to spark the onslaught in the first. Jose Suarez (6-6) pitched three-hit ball over seven innings before two relievers preserved the shutout.
