NATIONAL LEAGUE
MILWAUKEE 6 – Pittsburgh 1… The Brewers rolled past the Pirates after spotting them an early lead. Keston Hiura singled home a run to spark a four-run bottom of the seventh inning and scored twice.

San Diego 5 – SAN FRANCISCO 4… The Padres built a 5-0 lead after 5-1/2 innings and held on to beat the Giants. Manny Machado knocked in three runs with a single and a double. Joe Musgrove (9-6) allowed three runs on three hits and struck out 11 over 6-2/3 innings.

St. Louis 5 – CINCINNATI 3 (13 innings)… Albert Pujols lifted a sacrifice fly and Lars Nootbaar homered with a runner aboard in the top of the 13th inning as the Cardinals outlasted the Reds. Nolan Arenado also hit a two-run homer for St. Louis.

N.Y. METS 2 – L.A. Dodgers 1… Jacob DeGrom (4-1) allowed just a run on three hits and fanned nine over seven innings as the Mets edged the Dodgers. Starling Marte’s two-run homer in the top of the third inning provided all the offense New York needed.

ATLANTA 3 – Colorado 2… Kyle Wright (17-5) pitched five-hit ball over seven scoreless innings and the Braves held off the Rockies. Austin Riley homered with a runner aboard in the bottom of the first inning and Ronald Acuña Jr. added a solo shot in the fifth.

Philadelphia 18 – ARIZONA 2… 10 different players drove in runs and the Phillies walloped the Diamondbacks with a 22-hit attack. Brandon Marsh had three hits and drove in three runs. Jean Segura and pinch-hitter Garrett Stubbs contributed two-run doubles. Matt Vierling produced a pair of run-scoring singles.

AMERICAN LEAGUE
Houston 5 – TEXAS 3… Kyle Tucker’s two-run single in the top of the fourth inning proved to be the difference in the Astros’ win over the Rangers. Jose Altuve lined a go-ahead two-run double in the second.

Baltimore 4 – CLEVELAND 0… Jordan Lyles (10-9) pitched four-hit ball over 6-2/3 innings and two relievers completed the Orioles’s shutout of the Guardians. Ramon Urias drew a bases-loaded walk and homered with a runner aboard. Gunnar Henderson also went deep.

Seattle 5 – DETROIT 3… Abraham Toro connected for a go-ahead two-run homer in the top of the seventh inning to help the Mariners ease past the Tigers. Eugenio Suárez homered with a runner aboard in the first. Marco Gonzales (10-12) allowed three runs on seven hits over six innings.

Boston 6 – MINNESOTA 5… Xavier Bogaerts unloaded a grand slam and doubled home a run to lead the Red Sox past the Twins. J.D. Martinez also went deep for Boston. Michael Wacha (10-1) gave up two runs on four hits over six innings.

CHI. WHITE SOX 4 – Kansas City 2… Lance Lynn (4-5) held the Royals to a run on four hits over seven innings and the White Sox cruised to the win. AJ Pollock hit a game-tying homer to lead off the bottom of the fourth inning and Elvis Andrus added a go-ahead solo shot in the fifth.

L.A. ANGELS 3 – N.Y. Yankees 2… Shohei Ohtani belted a three-run homer in the bottom of the sixth inning to give the Angels the lead for good in their win over the Yankees. Patrick Sandoval (5-9) limited New York to two runs on three hits over seven innings.

INTERLEAGUE
Tampa Bay 2 – MIAMI 1 (10 innings)… Manuel Margot singled home Yu Chang with a tie-breaking run in the top of the 10th inning and the Rays made it stand in downing the Marlins. Harold Ramirez doubled home the game’s first run in the sixth.

WASHINGTON 5 – Oakland 1… Luke Voit’s two-run homer capped a four-run bottom of the fifth inning as the Nationals overtook the Athletics. Ildemaro Vargas had a couple of hits, including an RBI double. Anibal Sanchez (1-5) surrendered a run on three hits over seven innings.

Chi. Cubs 7 – TORONTO 5… The Cubs jumped out to a 5-0 lead and fought off the Blue Jays. Franmil Reyes homered and scored twice. Nico Hoerner stroked a two-run double.
