NATIONAL LEAGUE
PHILADELPHIA 7 – Atlanta 2… JT Realmuto’s two-run single capped a five-run bottom of the fifth inning and the Phillies coasted past the Braves. Alec Bohm drove in two runs with a single and a double. Kyle Gibson (6-4) allowed two runs on four hits over six innings.
L.A. DODGERS 7 – Washington 1… Hanser Alberto’s two-run single keyed a six-run bottom of the first inning and the Dodgers never looked back in their thumping of the Nationals. Gavin Lux went 3-for-4 and drove in two runs. Five Dodgers pitchers combined on a five-hitter.
ARIZONA 5 – San Francisco 3… Miguel Rojas’ solo homer capped a three-run bottom of the seventh inning that carried the Diamondbacks past the Giants. Ketel Marte also went deep for Arizona.
CINCINNATI 5 – Miami 3… Kyle Farmer’s two-run double sparked a four-run top of the first inning and the Reds coasted past the Marlins. Matt Reynolds had a couple of hits and drove in two runs. Luis Castillo (4-4) allowed three runs on six hits over seven innings.
AMERICAN LEAGUE
L.A. Angels 4 – KANSAS CITY 0… Janson Junk (1-0) pitched four-hit ball over five innings and four relievers preserved the Angels’ shutout of the Royals. Phil Gosselin broke a scoreless tie with an RBI triple in the top of the fifth inning and scored on Brandon Marsh’s single.
OAKLAND 4 – Houston 2… Cole Irvin (6-7) held the Astros to two runs on four hits over seven innings and the Athletics completed a sweep of the three-game series. Stephen Vogt and Stephen Piscotty hit solo homers for Oakland.
SEATTLE 4 – Texas 2… Julio Rodriguez cracked a go-ahead three-run homer in the bottom of the seventh inning and the Mariners made it stand in upending the Rangers. Sam Haggerty went 2-for-3 with an RBI double. Marco Gonzales (6-10) limited Texas to two runs on four hits over seven innings.
Cleveland 7 – BOSTON 6… The Guardians recovered to edge the Red Sox after blowing a three-run lead. Josh Naylor smacked a tie-breaking solo homer in the top of the ninth inning. Matt Straw doubled home the tying run in the eighth.
Tampa Bay 6 – BALTIMORE 4 (10 innings)… Randy Arozarena lined a two-run double in the top of the 10th inning and the Rays hung on to top the Orioles. Ji-Man Choi homered with a runner aboard and Luke Raley drilled a solo blast for Tampa Bay.
INTERLEAGUE
DETROIT 4 – San Diego 3… Victor Reyes’ two-run double in the bottom of the ninth inning lifted the Tigers over the Padres. Jeimer Candelario knocked in Detroit’s first two runs with a pair of singles.
MILWAUKEE 10 – Minnesota 4… Rowdy Tellez blasted a pair of three-run homers in leading the Brewers past the Twins. Luis Urías added a two-run shot. Corbin Burnes gave up three runs on five hits and struck out 11 over six innings.
COLORADO 6 – Chi. White Sox 5… Elias Diaz stroked a two-run single in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Rockies a come-from-behind win over the White Sox. Jose Iglesias drove in two runs with a double and a single.
St. Louis 6 – TORONTO 1… Nolan Gorman homered with the bases empty and Albert Pujols added a three-run shot in the top of the fifth inning as the Cardinals put away the Blue Jays. Adam Wainwright (7-8) surrendered a run on five hits over seven innings.
N.Y. METS 3 – N.Y. Yankees 2… Starling Marte singled home Brandon Nimmo in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Mets a walk-off win over the Yankees. Pete Alonso homered for the Mets. Max Scherzer pitched five-hit ball over seven scoreless innings for the Mets but didn’t get a decision.
