NATIONAL LEAGUE
San Diego 6 – CHI. CUBS 4… Nomar Mazara hit a two-run homer during a three-run top of the second inning and Jurickson Profar added a solo shot as the Padres topped the Cubs. Manny Machado had three hits, including an RBI single.
Philadelphia 10 – WASHINGTON 1… Kyle Schwarber homered with a runner aboard to spark a seven-run top of the third inning and added a two-run shot in the fourth to lead the Phillies in their romp over the Nationals. Yairo Muñoz also went deep. Nick Castellanos had two hits and knocked in two runs.
N.Y. METS 5 – Milwaukee 4… The Mets erased a 4-1 deficit in rallying past the Brewers. Nick Plummer’s infield grounder scored with the Starling Marte with the decisive run in the bottom of the eighth inning. Mark Canha tied the game with a two-run homer in the fifth.
AMERICAN LEAGUE
Oakland 4 – BOSTON 3… Paul Blackburn (6-2) held the Red Sox to a run on eight hits over 5-1/3 innings and the Athletics hung on for the victory. Christian Bethancourt singled home two runs to cap a three-run top of the third inning.
Baltimore 10 – TORONTO 2… The Orioles came alive to score six runs in the top of the third inning and never looked back in their shellacking of the Blue Jays. Austin Hays homered. Ryan Mountcastle, Rougned Odor and Tyler Nevin drove in two runs apiece.
N.Y. YANKEES 2 – Tampa Bay 1… Anthony Rizzo singled home DJ LeMahieu with a tying run in the bottom of the sixth inning and added a walkoff homer in the ninth to lead the Yankees past the Rays. Four New York pitchers combined on a three-hitter.
Texas 3 – DETROIT 1… Ezequiel Duran’s bases-clearing triple in the top of the ninth inning lifted the Rangers over the Tigers. The game featured a duel between Texas starter Martin Pérez and his counterpart Beau Brieske, but neither got a decision.
L.A. Angels 4 – SEATTLE 1… Mike Trout cracked a pair of two-run homers to power the Angels past the Mariners. Shohei Ohtani (5-4) pitched three-hit ball over six scoreless innings.
INTERLEAGUE
Cleveland 4 – COLORADO 2… Triston McKenzie (4-5) allowed just a run on seven hits over six innings and the Guardians eased past the Rockies. Amed Rosario singled home a run and lifted a sacrifice fly.
