NATIONAL LEAGUE
MIAMI 3 – San Francisco 0… Sandy Alcantara (6-2) pitched three-hit ball over seven innings and two relievers completed the Marlins’ shutout of the Giants. Jacob Stallings and Miguel Rojas singled home runs. Jesus Aguilar added a run-scoring double.
CINCINNATI 8 – Washington 1… Joey Votto and Kyle Farmer belted three-run homers to lead the Reds past the Nationals. Matt Reynolds also went deep. Graham Ashcraft (2-0) gave up a run on four hits over seven innings.
MILWAUKEE 5 – San Diego 4… The Brewers came alive to score four runs in the bottom of the ninth inning and stun the Padres. Jace Peterson legged out a game-tying three-run triple and scored the winning run on Andrew McCutchen’s single.
CHI. CUBS 7 – St. Louis 6… Willson Contreras homered with a runner aboard and the Cubs got solo shots from Frank Schwindel and Ian Happ in edging the Cardinals. Schwindel had three hits and two RBIs on the night.
Atlanta 13 – COLORADO 6… Travis D’Arnaud hit a pair of homers, including a grand slam, and knocked in six runs to lead the Braves past the Rockies. Dansby Swanson knocked in two runs with a single and a double.
L.A. DODGERS 2 – N.Y. Mets 0… Tony Gonsolin (6-0) pitched two-hit ball over six innings and got help from three relievers as the Dodgers blanked the Mets. Mookie Betts’ RBI single in the bottom of the fifth inning broke a scoreless tie. Justin Turner added a run-scoring double in the sixth.
AMERICAN LEAGUE
N.Y. YANKEES 6 – L.A. Angels 1… Matt Carpenter, Gleyber Torres, Aaron Judge and DJ LeMahieu hit solo homers as the Yankees cruised past the Angels in the opener of a doubleheader. Nestor Cortes (5-1) allowed five hits over seven scoreless innings.
N.Y. YANKEES 2 – L.A. Angels 1… Anthony Rizzo stroked a two-run single in the bottom of the eighth inning to send the Yankees past the Angels for a doubleheader sweep. Jameson Taillon (6-1) threw seven perfect innings before surrendering a run in the top of the eighth.
DETROIT 3 – Minnesota 2… Daz Cameron’s two-run homer in the bottom of the eighth inning powered the Tigers past the Twins. Jonathan Schoop’s RBI single in the first opened the scoring.
Tampa Bay 3 – TEXAS 1… Corey Kluber (2-2) allowed just a run on four hits over six innings and the Rays eased past the Rangers. Vidal Brujon doubled home a run and Yandy Diaz produced a run-scoring single for Texas.
TORONTO 8 – Chi. White Sox 3… The Blue Jays handled the White Sox and extended their winning streak to eight games. Teoscar Hernandez homered with a runner aboard. Santiago Espinal had three hits and knocked in three runs. Alec Manoah (6-1) allowed three runs on six hits over 7-2/3 innings.
Seattle 7 – BALTIMORE 6 (10 innings)… Abraham Toro’s triple in the top of the 10th inning scored Eugenio Suarez with a tie-breaking run and the Mariners made it stand in topping the Orioles. Luis Torrens had three hits, including a two-run single.
