MLB Scores Wednesday 5-18

NATIONAL LEAGUE
MILWAUKEE 7 – Atlanta 6 (11 innings)… The Brewers came from four runs down to outlast the Braves. Keston Hiura cracked a walkoff two-run homer in the bottom of the 11th inning. Kolten Wong’s two-out RBI triple tied the game in the ninth.

COLORADO 5 – San Francisco 3… C.J. Cron hit a tie-breaking two-run homer during a three-run bottom of the eighth that gave the Rockies their first win over the Giants in 13 tries. Charlie Blackmon homered for Colorado.

L.A. DODGERS 5 – Arizona 3… Justin Turner belted a three-run homer in the bottom of the fourth inning and the Dodgers rallied past the Diamondbacks to complete a four-game sweep. Walker Buehler (5-1) allowed two runs on six hits over five innings.

Washington 5 – MIAMI 4 (10 innings)… Keibert Ruiz had three hits, including a go-ahead RBI double in the top of the 10th inning, as the Nationals edged the Marlins. César Hernández tripled and doubled for Washington.

PHILADELPHIA 3 – San Diego 0… Zack Wheeler (2-3) pitched four-hit ball and struck out nine over seven innings and two relievers completed the Phillies’ shutout of the Padres. Rhys Hoskins homered for Philadelphia.

N.Y. METS 11 – St. Louis 4… Pete Alonso homered and drove in four runs to lead the Mets in their pounding of the Cardinals. Jeff McNeil stroked a two-run single.

Pittsburgh 3 – CHI. CUBS 2… Rookie Jack Suwinski smacked a go-ahead solo homer in the top of the fifth inning and the Pirates held on to down the Cubs. Michael Chavis and Daniel Vogelbach produced run-scoring singles in the third.

AMERICAN LEAGUE
TAMPA BAY 6 – Detroit 1… Isaac Paredes homered twice with the bases empty and the Rays cruised past the Tigers. Drew Rasmussen (4-1) limited Detroit to four hits over five scoreless innings.

Minnesota 14 – OAKLAND 4… Gary Sánchez went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs as the Twins thrashed the Athletics. Luis Arráez, Ryan Jeffers and Gilberto Celestino knocked in two runs apiece.

BOSTON 5 – Houston 1… Red Sox starter Nick Pivetta (2-4) gave up a leadoff home run to Jose Altuve and one other hit in a complete-game victory over the Astros. Xander Bogaerts hit a solo homer.

N.Y. Yankees 3 – BALTIMORE 2… The Yankees scored all three runs in the top of the first inning and held off the Orioles. Gleyber Torres doubled home a run and scored. Gerrit Cole (4-0) went allowed two runs on six hits over seven innings.

Seattle 5 – TORONTO 1… Ty France hit a two-run homer and the Mariners got solo blasts from Cal Raleigh and Abraham Toro in their win over the Blue Jays. Marco Gonzales (2-4) gave up a run on five hits over six innings.

TEXAS 6 – L.A. Angels 5 (10 innings)… Nathaniel Lowe’s two-run homer in the bottom of the 10th inning lifted the Rangers over the Angels to cap a three-game sweep. Jonah Heim had three hits and drove in two runs.

KANSAS CITY 6 – Chi. White Sox 2… Home runs by Bobby Witt Jr. and MJ Melendez helped power the Royals past the White Sox. Emmanuel Rivera legged out a go-ahead RBI triple.

INTERLEAGUE
Cincinnati – CLEVELAND (ppd)… Rain in Cleveland forced postponement of last night’s Reds-Guardians game. It will be made up today.
