NHL Playoffs Tuesday 5-10

NHL STANLEY CUP PLAYOFFS SCOREBOARD…
CAROLINA 5 – Boston 1… The Hurricanes skated past the Bruins to take a 3-2 lead in the Eastern Conference first-round playoff series. Seth Jarvis found the net twice. Tony DeAngelo had a goal and two assists. Goalie Antti Raanta made 34 saves. The series returns to Boston for Game 6 tomorrow.

TORONTO 4 – Tampa Bay 3… The Maple Leafs came from two goals down in the second period to overtake the Lightning and take a 3-2 lead in the Eastern Conference first-round playoff series. Auston Mathews scored the decisive goal with 6:05 remaining. William Nylander had a goal and two assists. The series shifts to Tampa Bay for Game 6 tomorrow.

St. Louis 5 – MINNESOTA 2… Vladimir Tarasenko scored three unanswered goals in the third period and the Blues put away the Wild to take a 3-2 lead in the Western Conference first-round playoff series. Ryan O’Reilly and Brandon Saad also found the net. Goalie Jordan Binnington made 31 saves. The series moves to St. Paul for tomorrow’s Game 6.

Los Angeles 5 – EDMONTON 4 (OT)… The Kings recovered to outlast the Oilers after blowing a two-goal third-period lead and took a 3-2 lead in the Western Conference first-round playoff series. Adrian Kempe netted his second goal of the game at 1:12 of overtime. The series returns to Los Angeles for Game 6 tomorrow.
