MLB Scores Monday 4-25

NATIONAL LEAGUE
San Francisco 4 – MILWAUKEE 3… Luis González’s first major league homer was a two-out, two-run shot in the top of the ninth inning that sent the Giants past the Brewers. Joc Pederson also homered with a runner aboard for San Francisco.

PHILADELPHIA 8 – Colorado 3… The Phillies took advantage of some sloppy play to cruised past the Rockies. Bryce Harper homered and lifted a sacrifice fly. Kyle Schwarber stroked a two-run double. Rhys Hoskins had three hits and scored twice. Kyle Gibson (2-1) allowed two runs on three hits over 5-2/3 innings.

N.Y. Mets 5 – ST. LOUIS 2… The Mets erupted to score five unearned runs after two were out in the top of the ninth inning to stun the Cardinals. Pinch-hitter Dominic Smith beat out an infield single that drove in two runs. Brandon Nimmo capped the outburst with a two-run homer.

L.A. Dodgers 4 – ARIZONA 0… Dodgers starter Walker Buehler (2-1) tossed a complete-game three-hitter in blanking the Diamondbacks. The righthander struck out 10 and didn’t walk a batter. Trea Turner provided all the offense L.A. needed with a two-run double in the top of the first inning. Max Muncy added an RBI double and Will Smith homered.

AMERICAN LEAGUE
TORONTO 6 – Boston 2… Bo Bichette’s first career grand slam broke an eighth-inning tie and powered the Blue Jays past the Red Sox. Toronto also got homers from Lourdes Gurriel Jr. and Matt Chapman.

TEXAS 6 – Houston 2… The Rangers handled the Astros in the opener of a four-game series. They took the lead in the bottom of the seventh inning on run-scoring singles by Marcus Semien and Corey Seager before Adolis Garcia added a bases-clearing double in the eighth.

L.A. ANGELS 3 – Cleveland 0… Michael Lorenzen (2-1) pitched three-hit ball over six innings and three Angels relievers did the rest in the blanking of the Guardians. Taylor Ward knocked in all three L.A. runs with a pair of homers.
