Tampa Bay 4 – N.Y. ISLANDERS 1… The Lightning got second-period goals from Victor Hedman and Alex Killorn and held off the Islanders. Goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy made 23 saves.

N.Y. RANGERS 5 – Buffalo 4 (OT)… K’Andre Miller found the net 2:02 into overtime to lift the Rangers over the Sabres. Frank Vatrano netted two goals. Alexis Lafrenière had a goal and an assist. Andrew Copp assisted on two goals.

PITTSBURGH 11 – Detroit 2…  Evgeni Malkin recorded his 13th career hat trick and had an assist as the Penguins walloped the Red Wings. Tristan Jarry stopped 33 shots at goal.

NASHVILLE 5 – Philadelphia 4… Tanner Jeannot’s goal with 1:19 remaining sent the Predators past the Flyers. Yakov Trenin scored two goals. Jeannot, Roman Josi, Alexandre Carrier and Mikael Granlund each had two assists.

MINNESOTA 3 – Colorado 2 (OT)… Kevin Fiala lit the lamp 15 seconds into overtime to push the Wild past the Avalanche for their sixth straight win. Ryan Hartman netted a tying goal with 5:27 left in regulation. Goalie Cam Talbot made 40 saves.

TORONTO 5 – Florida 2… John Tavares scored a pair of power-play goals in the second period as the Maple Leafs skated past the Panthers. Mitch Marner set up three goals. Petr Mrazek made 33 saves at goal.

NEW JERSEY 3 – Montreal 2 (SO)… Jack Hughes netted two goals in regulation and was one of four Devils to score in a seven-round shootout in the win over the Canadiens. Goalie Nico Daws made 31 stops.

WINNIPEG 2 – Arizona 1 (OT)… Mark Scheifele’s second goal of the game came with 9.7 seconds left in overtime and gave the Jets a hard-fought win over the Coyotes. Scheifele opened the scoring with a first-period goal. Connor Hellebuyck made 28 saves.
