KHS Tigers Win Tough One Over Hannibal

Free throw shooting will win a lot of games and the Kirksville Tigers scratched and clawed their way to a 50-48 road win over Hannibal Tuesday. The Tigers went 8 out of 11 at the stripe in the fourth quarter to pull away. Hannibal’s Aaris Stolte shot lights out in the third quarter by scoring 15 of his 27 points to give the Pirates a 40-38 lead at the end of the third. But Keaton Anderson scored 7 points in the fourth, including a couple of conventional three point plays. Cole Kelly and Drew Chrisman each made two big free throws, and Isaac Danielson put it out of reach with a free throw with 5 seconds left. Anderson ended with 21 points, 13 for Kelly as the Tigers get to 15-2 on the year and 4-1 in the NCMC. Next, the Tigers will be part of a double header at Mexico Friday, coverage starts around 6:10.
