Richard Lee Hollon

Richard Lee Hollon, 68 years old, of Milan, Missouri passed away Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.

Richard was born April 7, 1953 in Milan to Francis “Abe” and Phyllis (Gramling) Hollon. On August 26, 1995 he married Linda (Snelling) Hollon, she survives of the home. He is also survived by: His mother, Phyllis of Milan; two children, Kyle Hollon and wife Sami of Shelbyville, Missouri, Kelly Lopez and husband Jesus of Milan; a foster grandchild, Jayda Clover of Shelbyville, Missouri; a sister, Sandra Henley and husband Paul of Milan; a brother, Scott Hollon of Milan; a brother-in-laws, Jack and wife Laura Snelling and Steve Snelling; and several nieces, nephews, uncles and aunts. Richard was preceded by: His father, Abe Hollon; Grandparents, “Cotton” Hollon, Cleora and Carl Adkins, and Kenneth and Lucile Gramling; and Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, Joe and Lola (Clary) Snelling.

Richard lived in Sullivan County his whole life, he worked at ConAgra for 30 years and later worked at Foster’s Tire and Lube. He could fix anything and enjoyed taking things apart to see how they worked. In his younger years he enjoyed rebuilding his jeep, drag racing fast cars, and listening to loud music. Richard didn’t know a stranger and thoroughly enjoyed picking on people, telling stories, and going to the parts store just to talk. Richard liked the outdoors, hunting deer, goose, quail, and turkey, also going fishing. He most loved his family and always kept his kids busy.

Funeral services Richard will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 30, 2022 at Schoene-Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Milan. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, starting at 1:00 PM.
