Patricia Ann (Field) Swedberg

Patricia Ann (Field) Swedberg, 84 of Lancaster, Missouri passed away on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at the Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, Missouri.

The daughter of Harry Edward “Doc” and Georgia Eunice (Stewart) Field, she was born on September 6, 1937 in Osage, Iowa. She was a graduate of the Osage High School in Osage, Iowa. On February 21, 1959 in Osage, Iowa, she was united in marriage to Deryl Allen Swedberg and to this union six children were born, Terri, Dean, Lisa, Karmen, Diana and Kris.

Survivors include her children, Terri Nelson of Lancaster, Missouri, Lisa Dooley and husband, John L. of Shorewood, Illinois, Karmen Burt and husband, Albert of Queen City, Missouri, Diana Nelson and husband, Robbie of Lancaster, Missouri and Kris Beeler and husband, Joe of Ashland, Missouri; nineteen grandchildren; twenty six great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; one sister, Ginger Shipman of Nora Springs, Iowa; one sister-in-law, Nancy Field of Charles City, Iowa; numerous nieces and nephews; other family members and a host of very good friends and neighbors.

Pat is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Deryl Allen on October 18, 2013; one son, Dean Swedberg on October 13, 2007; one grandson, Dakota Allen Swedberg on April 5, 1989; one son-in-law, Steve Nelson on April 18, 2019; three brothers, Roger, Eddie and Kenneth Field and one sister, Judith Elaine (Sarge) Schilling on September 5, 2011.

Pat was member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church where she served as the organist for numerous years playing alongside with her daughter, Karmen Burt. She was also a faithful member of the St. John’s Ladies Aide and was also the church treasurer for many years. Pat served on numerous boards including the Schuyler County Ministerial Alliance, Senior Housing Board and was Public Administrator for several terms. She worked for the Exchange Bank of Northeast Missouri for many years retiring from there. Following her retirement, she worked part-time for the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri.

Pat was definitely a people person and loved being around people, young and old. She made everyone she was around feel extremely comfortable! She especially enjoyed being with her family and grandchildren whether it be at a family event or a spectator at the grandchildren’s sporting events. After the event, she could not wait until they would be coming back again!

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri with Pastor Bill Iammatteo-Code officiating. Music will be provided by Sarah Beeler, pianist with special selections of “You Have Come Down To the Lakeshore” and “Silent Night”. Pallbearers will be the grandsons. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 13, 2021 between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri.
