Alex Ovechkin and Aliaksei Protas scored 59 seconds apart in the second period. Goalie Ilya Samsonov stopped 30 shots.
MINNESOTA 4 – Tampa Bay 2… Ryan Hartman netted a tie-breaking goal midway through the third period and the Wild hung on to top the Lightning. Cam Talbot made 28 saves at goal.
BOSTON 3 – Vancouver 2… Brad Marchand scored the tying goal on a power play in the third period and assisted on David Pastrnak’s decisive goal in the Bruins’ defeat of the Canucks. Goalie Linus Ullmark stopped 36 shots.
NEW JERSEY 5 – Philadelphia 2… Andreas Johnsson scored a pair of goals and had two assists as the Devils skated past the Flyers. Jesper Bratt added a goal and two assists. Dougie Hamilton scored a goal and assisted on another.
San Jose 2 – CHICAGO 0… Goalie James Reimer made 29 saves in his 42nd career shutout and Sharks clipped the Blackhawks. Timo Meier scored on a deflection and added an empty-netter.
Toronto 5 – ANAHEIM 1… Michael Bunting, Alexander Kerfoot and William Nylander each had a goal and an assist as the Maple Leafs beat the Ducks for their 12th win of the month. Jack Campbell stopped 39 shots at goal.
