The Cardinals will name bench coach Oliver Marmol as the team’s new manager Monday, according to numerous sources with direct knowledge of the situation.
The 35 year old Marmol was named a bench coach in 2019 and was seen by many as the leading candidate for the job.
He’s been with the organization since 2017. St. Louis also drafted him as a player back in 2007.
Marmol will replace Mike Shildt, who was fired earlier this month.
The Cardinals have called a press conference for Monday.
