NATIONAL LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES GAME 5…
L.A. DODGERS 11 – Atlanta 2… The Dodgers overcame Freddie Freeman’s two-run homer in the top of the first inning to crush the Braves and pull within 3-2 in the NLCS. Chris Taylor and A.J. Pollock did almost all of the damage, combining for five homers and 10 RBIs. Taylor homered three times and knocked in six runs. Pollock added a pair of homers and four RBIs. Seven Dodger pitchers combined on a four-hitter. The series returns to Atlanta for Game 6 tomorrow. It will be a matchup of right-handers when the Braves send Ian Anderson to the mound, where he’ll be opposed by the Dodgers’ Max Scherzer. Anderson went 9-5 during the regular season; Scherzer was 15-4. Neither starter has a decision in the postseason. Gametime is 5:08 p.m. Eastern and the game airs on TBS.

AMERICAN LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES RESUMES TONIGHT… The ALCS returns to Houston for tonight’s Game 6 with the Astros leading the Boston Red Sox 3-2. Right-hander Luis Garcia, who went 11-8 during the regular season but dropped his only postseason decision, gets the start for Houston. Boston counters with fellow right-hander Nathan Eovaldi, who went 11-9 in the regular season and is 1-1 in the postseason. First pitch is set for 8:08 p.m. Eastern and the game airs on FS1. Game 7, if necessary, would be Saturday in Houston.
