NATIONAL LEAGUE DIVISION SERIES GAME 5…
L.A. Dodgers 2 – SAN FRANCISCO 1… The Dodgers held off the Giants in Game 5 of the National League Division Series and advance to host the Atlanta Braves tomorrow night in Game 1 of the NL Championship Series. The historic longtime rivals entered the contest with identical 109 wins on the season. Cody Bellinger singled home Justin Turner with the decisive run in the top of the ninth inning. Mookie Betts went 4-for-4 for Los Angeles and scored the game’s first run on Corey Seager’s sixth-inning double. Six Dodger pitchers combined for 13 strikeouts without a walk. Julio Urias allowed a run on three hits over four innings and the others tossed a scoreless inning apiece. Kenley Jansen retired the side in order in the eighth ad was credited with the victory. Max Scherzer came on in the ninth to get the save.

AMERICAN LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES OPENS TONIGHT…
The Boston Red Sox visit the Houston Astros tonight for Game 1 of the best-of-seven American League Championship Series. Framber Valdez, who went 11-6 during the regular season and had a non-decision in starting Game 2 of the AL Division Series, gets the start for the Astros. Fellow left-hander Chris Sale, who went 5-1 during the regular season but was knocked out after an inning and got a non-decision in Game 2 of the ALDS, takes the mound for the Red Sox. First pitch is set or 8:07 p.m. Eastern and the game airs on Fox.
