NATIONAL LEAGUE
Miami 3 – PITTSBURGH 1… Sandy Alcantara (3-5) held the Pirates to an unearned run on six hits over eight innings and the Marlins snapped their eight-game losing streak. Jesus Aguilar homered to lead off the top of the second inning and lifted a sacrifice fly.

PHILADELPHIA 12 – Washington 6… The Phillies pushed across seven runs in the bottom of the fourth innings on their way past the Nationals. J.T. Realmuto belted a three-run homer. Brad Miller added a two-run shot.

ATLANTA 4 – L.A. Dodgers 2… Max Fried (3-3) limited the Dodgers to a run on six hits over six innings in outdueling Trevor Bauer and the Braves took the rubber game of the series. Ender Inciarte singled home a run and lifted a sacrifice fly.

MILWAUKEE 2 – Arizona 0… Corbin Burnes (3-4) pitched four-hit ball over seven innings and got help from four relievers in the shutout as the Brewers dealt the Diamondbacks their 17th straight road loss. Daniel Robertson and Tyrone Taylor smacked solo homers for Milwaukee.

Cincinnati 8 – ST. LOUIS 7… Jesse Winker’s third homer of the game was a one-out solo shot in the top of the ninth inning that sent the Reds past the Cardinals. Winker finished with six RBIs. Eugenio Suarez stroked a two-run double.

Chi. Cubs 4 – SAN FRANCISCO 3… Patrick Wisdom homered twice and knocked in three runs to lead the Cubs past the Giants. Chicago starter Kyle Hendricks scored an unearned run in the top of the fifth inning to break a tie. Hendricks (7-4) worked 6-1/3 innings on the mound.

N.Y. Mets 6 – SAN DIEGO 2… Marcus Stroman (5-4) surrendered just an unearned run on four hits over 6-2/3 innings and the Mets cruised past the Padres. Stroman helped himself at the plate with a run-scoring double. Domonic Smith homered with the bases empty and James McCann went deep with a runner aboard.

AMERICAN LEAGUE
BALTIMORE 18 – Cleveland 5… The Orioles walloped the Indians with a 21-hit attack. Cedric Mullins homered to lead of the bottom of the first inning and Ramon Urías added a leadoff homer in the eighth. Anthony Santander had three hits and three RBIs.

Houston 6 – TORONTO 3… Luis Garcia (5-3) gave up just a run on three hits over six innings and the Astros doubled up on the Blue Jays. Jose Altuve homered to lead off the game. Chas McCormick led off the second with a homer. Kyle Tucker had a couple of hits, including a two-run single.

CHI. WHITE SOX 3 – Detroit 0… Three pitchers combined on the shutout to give White Sox manager Tony La Russa 2,764th win as manager and move him past John McGraw into sole possession of second place on baseball’s all-time manager wins list. Dylan Cease (4-2) pitched five-hit ball over seven innings and struck out 10. Andrew Vaughn singled home a run and Tim Anderson added a two-run single as Chicago scored all three runs in the bottom of the second inning.

Minnesota 2 – KANSAS CITY 1… Trevor Larnach was hit by a pitch in the top of the fifth inning to force home a tie-breaking run and the Twins hung on to edge the Royals. Miguel Sanó doubled home a run in the third inning and was part of a triple-play defensively.

Tampa Bay 7 – TEXAS 1… The Rays came alive to do all their scoring in their final two at-bats and put away the Rangers. Yandy Diaz homered to cap a four-run top of the ninth inning. Taylor Walls stroked a two-run double in the eighth.

Seattle 9 – L.A. ANGELS 5… The Mariners came up with five runs in the top of the ninth inning to pound the Angels. Donovan Walton homered to lead off the top of the third inning and drew a bases-loaded walk. Starter Logan Gilbert (1-2) allowed a run on two hits over five innings.

Boston 6 – N.Y. YANKEES 5 (10 innings)… Xavier Bogaerts came through with a two-run single in the top of the 10th inning and the Red Sox held on to outlast the Yankees. Marwin Gonzalez homered with a runner aboard and Alex Verdugo also went deep for Boston.

INTERLEAGUE
COLORADO 3 – Oakland 1… German Marquez (4-5) held the Athletics to a run on four hits over six innings and two Rockies relievers nailed down the victory. Raimel Tapia singled home a run for Colorado. Brendan Rodgers and Dom Nuñez lifted sacrifice flies.
