Vikings Sign Breeland

The Minnesota Vikings agreed to terms with former Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Bashaud Breeland, the team announced.

The agreement, which was announced Friday, brings another veteran free agent to the Vikings’ secondary. Earlier this off-season, Minnesota added Pro Bowl cornerback Patrick Peterson and Mackensie Alexander, who spent the first four seasons of his career with the Vikings before playing for the Cincinnati Bengals in 2020.

The Vikings didn’t disclose the terms of Breeland’s contract.

Breeland started 32 games for the Chiefs over the last two seasons, including six playoff contests.

The 29-year-old Breeland missed the first four games of last season after the NFL suspended him for violating the league’s policy on substance abuse.
