The Kirksville Lady Tiger season came to a close Wednesday against Smithville 57-51 in the Class 5 Sectionals at Tiger Gym. The Lady Tigers played right with a very talented Smithville team. KHS led 16-15 at the end of the 1st, but got outscored 20-13 in the 2nd and Smithville led 35-29 at the break. Kirksville would get as close as 3 points in the fourth quarter, but Smithville’s Christina Walsh and McKenzie Moes took over to help Smithville pull away. Walsh, a 6’1″ Senior finished with 20 points, Moes hit three big 3’s and finished with 13. Jenna Jackson led KHS with 16, 14 for Kenslie Stufflebeanin her final game in a Kirksville uniform. The Lady Tigers finish 13-11, and earned a tough win over Mexico to claim a district championship.
