PITTSBURGH 4 – N.Y. Rangers 2… Kasperi Kapanen netted his fourth goal in five games to highlight the Penguins’ win over the Rangers. Sidney Crosby had a goal and an assist. Goalie Tristan Jarry made 33 saves.

N.Y. ISLANDERS 2 – Boston 1 (SO)… Anthony Beauvillier scored the decisive goal in the shootout to send the Islanders past the Bruins. Brock Nelson scored a tying goal late in the second period.

PHILADELPHIA 5 – Buffalo 4 (SO)… The Flyers overcame an early two-goal deficit to outlast the Sabres. Sean Couturier and Nolan Patrick scored in the tie-breaker. Couturier set up two goals in regulation.

WASHINGTON 5 – New Jersey 4 (OT)… The Capitals recovered to top the Devils after blowing a three-goal third-period lead. Jakub Vrana’s second goal of the game won it at 1:30 of overtime.

CAROLINA 3 – Nashville 2 (OT)… The Hurricanes came from two goals down in the second period to down the Predators. Jordan Staal netted his second goal of the game with 34 seconds left in overtime. Sebastian Aho had a goal and an assist.

Florida 4 – COLUMBUS 2… Patric Hornqvist scored his 10th goal in the second period and the Panthers went on to double up on the Blue Jackets. Sergei Bobrovsky made 40 saves at goal.

Winnipeg 4 – TORONTO 3… Mason Appleton’s third-period goal proved to be the difference in the Jets’ win over the Maple Leafs. Neal Pionk set up three goals. Andrew Copp had a goal and an assist.

Tampa Bay 4 – DETROIT 3 (OT)… Blake Coleman found the net 2:17 into overtime to push the Lightning past the Red Wings. Erik Cernak and Blake Coleman both had a goal and an assist.

DALLAS 6 – Chicago 1… The Stars got goals from six different players in skating past the Blackhawks. Jason Robertson assisted on four goals. Roope Hintz had a goal and an assist.
