NHL SCOREBOARD…
N.Y. ISLANDERS 5 – Buffalo 2… Anders Lee and Brock Nelson scored 1:02 apart in the second period to open the scoring and the Islanders cruised past the Sabres. Nelson also found the net in the third.

Tampa Bay 6 – CHICAGO 3… The Lightning rolled past the Blackhawks after spotting them a three-goal lead. Yanni Gourde netted two second-period goals and had two assists. Victor Hedman and Ondrej Palat each had a goal and an assist.

CAROLINA 4 – Florida 2… The Hurricanes doubled up on the Panthers for their fifth straight win. Sebastian Aho had a goal and an assist.

New Jersey 1 – BOSTON 0… Kyle Palmieri’s goal with 4:37 remaining broke a scoreless tie and the Devils hung on to clip the Bruins. Goalie Scott Wedgewood stopped all 40 shots in the shutout.

Washington 3 – PHILADELPHIA 1… The Capitals got goals from Alex Ovechkin, Dmitry Orlov and Nick Jensen in downing the Flyers. T.J. Oshi set up two goals.

Pittsburgh 5 – N.Y. RANGERS 1… The Penguins scored three goals 1:01 apart late in the first period and never looked back in skating past the Rangers. Kasperi Kapanen scored a goal and set up two others. Evgeni Malkin added a goal and an assist.

Nashville 4 – DALLAS 3 (SO)… The Predators recovered to outlast the Stars after blowing a three-goal third-period lead. Roman Josi netted the winning goal in the shootout. Eeli Tolvanen had a goal and an assist. Goalie Pekka Rinne made 35 saves.

Ottawa 4 – CALGARY 3 (SO)… Tim Stutzie and Drake Batherson scored in the tie-breaker to send the Senators past the Flames. Connor Brown, Ryan Dzingel and Colin White scored in regulation for Ottawa.
