The Truman State women scored their final 10 points from the free throw line and the Bulldogs held on for a gritty 68-65 win over the McKendree Bearcats on Thursday night. Truman improved to 10-2 with the win.
Hannah Belanger scored 25 points with 16 in the first half and nine in the deciding quarter for Truman State. Belanger knocked down four triples and was 7-of-7 from the charity stripe including six in the final 2:04.
It was the sixth straight victory for Truman and set up a clash on Saturday with two, 10-win teams in Southern Indiana and the Bulldogs. USI downed Truman 83-78 in Pershing Arena back on January 3rd. Tip time is scheduled for 1 p.m. in Evansville.
