The Kirksville Tigers suffered their first loss of the season at Monroe City Saturday 62-49. Monroe City’s defense was outstanding all day, forcing seven quick Tigers turnovers in the first 3 minutes of the game and grabbed a quick 12-3 lead. KHS recovered to get to within 4 at the break, but from then on it was all Panthers. KHS was led by Keaton Anderson with 17 points and 14 for Noah Copeland. The Panthers had four players in double figures, Joshua Talton with 19, 14 for Josiah Talton, and 10 each from Jaden Robertson and Deion White. The Tigers are now 8-1 on the year, still 2-0 in the NCMC. Monroe City climbs to 12-1 on the year.
