Loretta Fern Fanning, 88 years old, of The Baptist Home in Chillicothe, Missouri, formerly of Milan, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe.
Loretta was born October 27, 1931 on a farm northeast of Browning to Susie Beck and Ed Almond. She was the last of 11 children, 3 half sisters and 7 half brothers, all are deceased. On November 1, 1947 she married Clarence Fanning who was the love of her life at first sight, he preceded her in death in 1998. She was also preceded by: her parents; a son, Joe Fanning. She is survived by: a daughter, Pat Lee and husband John of Milan; a son, Gene Fanning and wife Kelly of Milan; grandsons, Chris Lee and wife Tammy, Jamie Lee, and Randy Lee and wife Bridget; great grandchildren, Logan Lee, Tiffany Lee, Audra Lee, Ashton Lee, and Alexa Lee; two step great grandchildren, Dathan Typaldos and Jared Typaldos; two step great great grandchildren, Damian Typaldos and Jonah Typaldos; and several nieces and nephews including Billy Duane and wife Betty Beck.
Loretta grew up in the Cora area. She moved to Scottsville and lived in numerous areas before moving back to Milan. Loretta worked for several years at Edward and Dollie Spencer’s nursing home, which later became Milan Health Care. She enjoyed working with her flowers and loved her cats Molly and later Shadow. Loretta most loved her kids and grandkids. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Funeral services for Loretta will be held 2:00 PM, Monday, October 19, 2020 at Schoene-Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Milan. Burial will follow at White Oak Cemetery in Milan. A visitation is scheduled for one hour prior to the service, starting at 1:00 PM. The family suggests anyone attending to wear a mask.
