MLB Playoffs Thursday 10-1

NATIONAL LEAGUE WILD-CARD GAME 2 SCORES…
ATLANTA 5 – Cincinnati 0… Starter Ian Anderson pitched two-hit ball over six innings and the Braves held the Reds scoreless for the second straight game in sweeping the series. Marcell Ozuna and Adam Duvall put the game away with two-run homers in the bottom of the eighth inning. Atlanta awaits the winner of the Chicago Cubs-Miami series in the National League Division Series.

L.A. DODGERS 3 – Milwaukee 0… The Dodgers blanked the Brewers to complete a sweep of the series. They await the winner of the San Diego-St. Louis series in the National League Division Series. Starter Clayton Kershaw held the Padres to three hits over eight innings and struck out 12. Mookie Betts stroked a two-run double as L.A. scored all three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning.

SAN DIEGO 11 – St. Louis 9… The Padres came from four runs down in the fourth inning to slug their way past the Cardinals and even the series at a game apiece. Fernando Tatis and Wil Meyers both homered twice and combined to drive in nine runs. Righthander Jack Flaherty (4-3) takes the mound for St. Louis in today’s Game 3. San Diego hadn’t announced a starter.

Miami – CHI. CUBS (ppd)… A forecast of rain forced postponement of yesterday’s Marlins-Cubs game. It has been rescheduled for today. Miami will try to finish off a sweep today when it sends Sixto Sanchez (3-2) to the mound. Yu Darvish (8-3) takes the hill for Chicago in a matchup of righthanders. A Game 3 would be played tomorrow.

AMERICAN LEAGUE WILD-CARD GAME 3 SCORE…
OAKLAND 6 – Chi. White Sox 4… The Athletics overcame an early three-run deficit to top the White Sox and advance to take on Houston in the AL Division Series beginning Monday in Oakland. Sean Murphy’s two-run homer sparked a four-run bottom of the fourth inning. Chad Pinder delivered a go-ahead two-run single in the fifth.
