Robert Glenn Long

Robert Glenn Long, 74 years old, of Kirksville, Missouri passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.

Robert was born January 4, 1951 in Kirksville, to Cecil Glenn and Maryland (Shoop) Long, who preceded him in death.

In 1970, he married the love of his life, Rhonda (Borron) Long, who survives. Robert is also survived by their three children, Bryan Long and wife, Susan, of Maryville, Missouri, Kristen Breuer and husband, Tom, of Kirksville, and Joel Long of Columbia; 10 grandchildren, Aubriana Meinen, Anna (Mason) Laymon, Emily Long, Isaiah Meinen, Keller Breuer, Brett Long, Evan Long, Aspen Breuer, Katherine Long, and Addison Long; a great granddaughter, Luna Seward; his sisters, Sue Holt and husband, Mike, of Kirksville and Margaret Anne Long of St. Joseph, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.

Robert grew up in Green Castle, graduating from Green City R-1 in 1968. He then attended MU, graduating with his Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Economics in 1972. Robert then began working on the Borron turkey farms in Winigan, and also raised cattle and row cropped on his own farms. He became a real estate agent for Yellow Creek Realty, later buying the business and becoming a Broker in 2007.

Robert was a member of the Moose Lodge, the Winigan First Baptist Church and in college was a member of Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity. He enjoyed spending time with family, playing cards, and watching the St. Louis Cardinals. He loved attending Mizzou games and playing golf as well as fantasy football.

A service for Robert will be held 2:00 PM, Monday, December 22, 2025 at Ruschmeier-Smith Funeral Home in Green City, Missouri. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Green City. A visitation is scheduled for one hour prior, starting at 1:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be left at Ruschmeier-Smith Funeral Home to the Kirksville Humane Society or the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).
