Michael Wayne Lumsden, 70, of Milan, Missouri, passed away, Friday, November 14, 2025 at University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.
Michael was born March 17, 1955 in Keokuk, Iowa to John William and Morene (Coffman) Lumsden, they preceded him in death. He grew up mostly in Sullivan County, graduating from Milan C-II School. Michael worked as a 911 dispatcher for 14 years, had a car dealership for awhile and also was a landlord with rental properties. Michael was a huge movie buff.
Michael is survived by: his brother, Mark Duane Lumsden and wife Annett of Green City; a niece, Rebecca McCabe and husband Travis of Milan; a great niece and nephew, Madylin McCabe and Charlie McCabe; and long-time friend, Danny Reed of Milan.
A funeral service for Michael will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at Ruschmeier-Smith Funeral Home in Milan. Burial will follow at Thomas Union Cemetery, northwest of Milan. A visitation is scheduled for one hour prior to the service, starting at 1:00 PM, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to go to Danny Reed, to help pay Michael’s final expenses.
