Sandra Lea (Knowles) Flynn, 78, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2025 at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.
Born June 28, 1947 in Unionville, Missouri, Sandra was the daughter of the late Jimme L. and Dorothy Vera (Lawson) Knowles. On May 5, 1972 in Unionville, Missouri, Sandra was united in marriage to Irvin Paul “Doc” Flynn who preceded her in death on November 18, 2023. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Marci Locust; and one brother, Jimmy Knowles.
Sandra is survived by one son, Josh (Alex Wernert) Locust of Kirksville, MO; one daughter and son-in-law, Missie and Steve Mortimer of Montrose, IA; one sister, Sharon Foster of Kirksville, MO; three grandchildren, Alisha May, Alex May, and Ashley May; twelve great-grandchildren, Jacob, Ryan, Ethan, and Oliver Helm, Kylie, Emma, and Colt May, Emma Lorton, and Carson, Jackson, Roni, and Olivia Locust; as well as nieces and nephews.
A graduate of Unionville High School, Sandra dedicated twenty years of her life working at the Florsheim Shoe Factory. Outside of work, she was a woman of deep faith and varied passions. Sandra was an avid cook and baker, whose creations were enjoyed by many. She found joy in gardening, canning, and sewing. Her life was guided by her faith; she loved praying and cherished her church family at First Assembly of God. Above all, family and God were her number one priorities, and she treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren and loved ones.
Public visitation will be held Friday, November 7, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the First Assembly of God Church with funeral service at noon. Pastor Shawn Meintz will officiate the service and interment will follow at Unionville Cemetery in Unionville, Missouri.
Pallbearers will be Alex May, Josh Locust, Steve Mortimer, Melissa Mortimer, Billy Scott, and Tyler Summers.
Memorial donations in memory of Sandra may be made to the First Assembly of God Church and may be left at the church or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO, 63501.
