Michael Kevin Taylor of Browning, Mo passed away peacefully June 6, 2025 at the St. Luke’s Hospice House in Kansas City, Mo.
Michael was born June 26, 1957 to Everett Evans Taylor Sr and Fleta June (Henning) Taylor. He graduated from Linn County R#1 High School in 1975.
For decades, he went by the moniker “Turk or Turkey Tom.” He was a free spirit living life according to his own will. He had many talents leading him to jobs over the years (industry and farm), a gift for gab and he didn’t know a stranger. He was truly resourceful and could take one man’s trash and turn it into treasure (in his eyes). One not to be idle, he enjoyed tinkering with projects, reminiscing about old times and hunting and fishing with his family and buddies. He was an avid and skilled hunter who looked forward to each season.
In his last days he surrendered his life to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He leaves behind two daughters: Jessica Taylor Meininger (Jesse), Emily Taylor Thatcher (Justin); four grandchildren Alexis, Aliah, Jaidynn and Jamosen; two great grandsons Asher and Adrias; a sister Sherryl Taylor Kool (Ron); nieces and nephews Melody Brantner, Bryan Gripp (Maggie), Michael Kool (Beth), Everett Eugene Taylor (Sandra), Junius Taylor (Joni), Julie Kay Taylor and their many children. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, sister and beloved grandparents.
The family extends their gratitude to the medical team that provided his care these past 3 months: Amy Creason (Primary Care NP); Dr. Smith (Kirksville Cancer Clinic); Dr. Watson (Kirksville Nephrology Clinic); Boone Hospital, Columbia Mo; and St Luke’s Hospice House in Kansas City, Mo. The care they provided was commendable and we are forever grateful.
A Celebration of Life for Michael will be held Saturday, November 1, 2025 at the Purdin Community Center-Purdin, Mo with lunch at 11:30 followed by salutations/memories from family and friends.
