Tila Sue (Luddeke) Gardine

Tila Sue (Luddeke) Gardine, 78 of Downing, Missouri passed away in the presence of loved ones on Friday, September 19, 2025.
The daughter of John and Thelma Earlene (Judd) Luddeke, she was born on February 25, 1947 in Centerville, Iowa. She was a 1964 graduate of Rantoul High School in Rantoul Township, Illinois. Following graduation from high school, she was united in marriage on October 6, 1966 in Cuero, Texas to Craig Warren Gardine and to this union three beautiful daughters were born, Christina, Jennifer and Angela. Tila decided to further her education by receiving a double Master’s degree.
Survivors include her daughters, Christina Garrett and husband, Alan of Downing, Missouri and Angela Gardine of Downing, Missouri; two grandchildren, Riley Gardine of Cuero, Texas and Shelby Garrett of Lancaster, Missouri; one great granddaughter, Aidyn Jackson of Lancaster, Missouri; two sisters, Debra Hess and husband, Roger of Cuero, Texas and Karen Hames and husband, Frank of The Colony, Texas; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.
Tila is preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Jennifer Lynn Gardine on November 26, 2001.
Tila taught school in Iowa and in Texas where she was a media specialist. She also was the librarian at the Schuyler County Library in Lancaster, Missouri for a number of years.
