Lowella Verne Marble

Lowella Verne Marble, age 106, of Edina, MO peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on  Monday, September 8, 2025 in the Knox County Nursing Home in Edina, MO.

She was born in Adair County, MO on February 25, 1919, the daughter of Orville Milton and Ora May Lowe Patterson.  She was united in marriage to Raymond Sylvanus Marble on June 25, 1938 in Lancaster, MO and he preceded her in death on March 24, 1999.  Verne was also preceded in death by her parents, one son Timothy Marble, son-in-law Charlie Hamlin, one sister Maurita June Phillips, two brothers Alva Milton Patterson and Russell W. Patterson, sisters and brothers-in-law Mary Marble Thompson, Helen Marble Woreman, Boone Marble, Paul and Charles Marble.

Verne graduated from Brashear High School.  Verne and her husband Ray owned and operated Marbles Ready Mix in Edina, Memphis and Lewistown for many years.  She also babysat (mostly her grandchildren) for several years.  Verne enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, flowers and was well known for her pies.  She was a member of the Edina Assembly of God Church and was actively involved in all church activities.

Surviving are one son Terry (Rose) Marble of Kirksville, MO, two daughters Nancy Hamlin of Edina, MO and Charlotte (Mike) Dyslin of Fairfield, CT, a daughter-in-law Diane Marble of St. Louis, MO, seven grandchildren Tammy (Pat) Kriegshauser, Tracie (Rex) Lingenfelter, Tony (Kyane) Marble, Jeff (Scherry) Hamlin, Jeremy Hamlin and fiancée Angie, Brittany Marble, Elise Marble, great grandchildren Dylan (Molly), Mitch, and Vin Kriegshauser, Brooklyn (Curtis) Smith, Keagan and Krayden Hamlin, Reagan (Riley) Poston, Madeline Winter, Zachary Winter, Colebie (Katlind) Murry, Andy Lingenfelter, Devin Lingenfelter, Tanner Marble, Carter Marble,  Khloe, Kabe, Kallen, Kwyn, Elle, Noah Hamlin, Chase Leonard, Cali Marble, great-great grandchildren, Abigale Bealmer, Amyia, Malcom and Charleigh Smith,  Aubree Housewright, Lawson Poston, Alex Crook, Aria Kohler, Aubrey Spees, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 13, 2025 in the Edina Assembly of God Church.  Visitation will begin at 12 noon and services will follow at 2 p.m.  Pastor Brian Burton will officiate the services.  Burial will be in Park View Memorial Gardens in Kirksville, MO.

Casket bearers will be Dylan, Mitch and Vin Kriegshauser, Andy Lingenfelter, Tanner and Carter Marble, Keagan and Krayden Hamlin, Kabe and Kallen Hamlin and Chase Leonard.
