Donald Ray Hall, aged 89 years, passed away at his home on Monday, August 25, 2025. Donald was born on August 13, 1936, near Newark, MO to Lester Emmett and Evia Louise (Rudd) Hall. He was the second of four children. The family moved west of Locust Hill, MO when Donald was 4 years old.
He attended the Locust Hill Rural School for 8 years and graduated from Novelty High School in 1955. After high school, he worked for various farmers in the area. He worked for Barnett Aviation at Kirksville Airport where he earned his pilot’s license.
In 1959 he was drafted into the US Army and served until 1962.
On September 28, 1963, he married Shirley Louise Klocke and to this union 2 children were born.
In August 1964 he went to work for Mark Twain Telephone Company and retired from there after 34 ½ years.
Donald & Shirley raised their family near Novelty, moved to rural Edina in 1982 and into town in 2011.
He was a member of Locust Hill Community Church and served on the board for 30 years. After moving to Edina, he attended Edina United Methodist Church. He was also a member of Communications Workers of America.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Morton Lee Hall and wife Beulah, and Leroy Hall and one sister, Louise Moyer and husband Joe Allen; sisters-in law, Laverne Nicol and Laveta Gentle and husband Howard.
He is survived by his wife; son Billie (Sherri) Hall of Hamilton, TX, daughter Barbara (Rhett) Hunziker of Knox City, MO; grandchildren, Nikki Brandt of Howard, CO; Shelby (Brandon) Burris of Shallowater, TX, Bailey (Phillip) Geisendorfer of Taylor, MO, Caleb Hunziker of Kansas City, MO, Adeline Hunziker of Edina, MO, and Lane Hall of Austin, TX; great-grandchildren, Wyatt & Lane Brandt, Bodee and Braydee Burris, and Ivy and Gwyneth Geisendorfer. Donald is also survived by brothers-in-law, Larry (Patty) Klocke, Gary (Peggy) Klocke, Darrell Klocke and Dale Klocke; sisters-in-law, Esther (Freddie) Contratto, Brenda (Jeff) Ausmus, and Shirley M. Hall, along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Services will be held in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO. Visitation will be Friday, August 29, 2025, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and funeral services will be held Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 2 p.m.
Officiating the services will be Beverly Peters assisted by Pastor Youngnam Park. Interment will be in the Locust Hill Cemetery. Music will be provided by Jim and Kyle Clark, Ryan Park and Carol Hayes.
Casket bearers will be Bill Joe Wilkerson, Ben Bradley, James Penn, Nathan Penn, Matt Clark and David Clark. Honorary bearers will be his Coworkers at Mark Twain Telephone Company.
