Dorothy Clellene “Dot” Turner, 98 years old, of Green City, Missouri passed away Saturday, July 5, 2025 at St. Luke’s Hospice House in Kansas City.
Dot was born August 10, 1926, in Milan to Clell and Nora (Caldwell) Dehm. On September 21, 1946, she married Bobbie Glenn Turner in Kirksville, he preceded her in death in 2019. She was also preceded by: Her parents; sisters, Mildred Gray, Helen Seimer, Bernice Tucker, and Rita Murphy; and a brother, Russell Dehm.
Dot was survived by: Two daughters, Linda Salisbury and husband Rand of Kansas City, Missouri, and Vicki Stanford and husband Scott of Tucson, Arizona; Grandchildren, Lisa Schlosser, Dena Salisbury, and Scott Salisbury and wife Holly; Great Grandchildren, Nora Schlosser, Tanner Duffendack, Hannah Duffendack, Ryan Salisbury, Aden Salisbury; nieces, Joyce Miller, Jan Murphy, and Chrissy Murphy; a nephew, Mike Murphy.
Dot grew up in Milan, graduating from Milan C-II High School. After graduation she worked for F.M. Stampers, was a typesetter for the Green City Press, then was postmaster for USPS for many years before retiring. Dot was a member of the Green City Lady Lions, serving as President many years, she served on the Green City city council for several years, and was also a member of the Green City United Methodist Church Ladies group.
Dot enjoyed gardening, being outdoors and playing Canasta. She was a wonderful cook and baked great pies. Dot most enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Dot will be held 12:00 Noon, Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at the Green City United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, East of Green City. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, starting at 11:00 AM, at the church. Ruschmeier-Smith Funeral Home in Green City is handling arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Green City United Methodist Church, or in honor of Dot’s father, Clell, the Milan Depot.
