Terry Lee Gosney, 62, of Novinger, Missouri, passed away Sunday, May 25, 2025 at his home.
The son of William Lavern and Barbara Jo (Barrickman) Gosney, he was born March 31, 1963 in Kirksville, Missouri. On September 11, 1991, in Kirksville, Missouri, Terry was united in marriage to Lora Lea Robison.
Terry is survived by his wife Lora of thirty-three years; his father and step-mother, Bill and Alice Gosney of Edina, MO; one daughter, Tara LeAnn (Tyler) VanWye of Novinger, MO; one brother, Kevin Gosney of Palmyra, MO; step brother, Brant Tripp of Kirksville, MO; half sister, Jennifer Gosney of MO; two step sisters, Amber Manning and Stephanie Adelman both of Edina, MO; and one grandson, Talon VanWye.
Terry was preceded in death his mother and half sister, Vicki Bunch.
Terry was a graduate from Knox County R-I High School with the class of 1981. He then served four years in the United States Army. Terry was employed with Ron Baker Hide & Fur, Cardwell Lumber several years, Shobes Meat Locker, worked as a groundskeeper and land management for Steve & Ann Mowry, Kraft Foods thirty-two years until retiring, Robinson Heating & Air Conditioning, and last for Pure Air Land Management Company where he was a foreman.
Terry enjoyed trapping, fishing, hunting, raising cattle, cutting wood, playing baseball and arrow head hunting with his grandson, and was a member of the NRA. He loved spending time with his daughter and son-in-law, grandson, and wife.
Public visitation will be held from 10:00 to 12:00 p.m. on Friday, May 30, 2025 at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville. Interment with military honors will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Missouri State Veteran’s Cemetery in Jacksonville, Missouri.
Pallbearers will be Tyler VanWye, Tyler Spencer, Randy Hale, Zak Coy, Gary Foreman, and Chris Holsten, and Talon VanWye will be an honorary pallbearer.
