Linda Lea (Pouliot) Gilcrest, 84, of Milan, Missouri, passed away Friday, May 16, 2025, at Sullivan County Memorial Hospital in Milan.
Linda was born on September 20, 1940, in Chicago, Illinois to Mathias and Francis (Gibson) Pouliot. Linda grew up in Chicago, she moved to Washington, married Gail Dean Harris and had two children: Allan and Beth. She moved back to Kansas City, then Milan, and in the 80’s to Las Vegas, where she married Emmett Gilcrest. In 1995, she moved to Brookfield, where she lived several years before moving back to Milan to be close to her kids.
Survivors include: Her two children, Allan Harris of Milan and Beth (Matt) Howard of Milan; three grandchildren, Rachel (Mitch) Wood, Jessica (Nathan) Hoover, and Ryan Hollon; step grandchildren; Blake Howard (Lydia) and Lucas Howard (Cassidy), great grandchildren, Ellie Miller and Morgan Wood; Step great grandchildren, Kaidyn Wood, Degen Wood, Mavrick Wood and Ezmay Howard (on the way); a niece, Nicole Berkowitz; a nephew, Shawn Pouliot; and a sister-in-law, Judy Pouliot.
Linda is preceded in death by: Her parents; Husband, Emmett Gilcrest; and a brother, Tom Pouliot.
Linda worked at various office jobs in banks and hospitals. She enjoyed singing, doing crafts and sewing. She also liked going bowling and golfing. Linda was a past member of Brookfield Ladies’ Golf, and she sang in multiple choirs.
A memorial service for Linda will be held at 11:00AM, Monday, May 19, 2025, at Ruschmeier-Smith Funeral Home in Milan, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Linda’s honor.
