Charles Thomas Cooper, 64, of Milan, Missouri, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by family on Tuesday, April 29, 2025.
Charlie was born on July 29, 1960, in Milan, to George Henry and Annabel (Breeding) Cooper. In his younger years, Charlie spent time living in California and Washington State before moving back to Missouri where he graduated from Richmond High School. He lived in Independence, Missouri before moving back to Milan in the mid 80’s. Charles and his brother J.R. owned and operated their own construction business for several years before he went to work at Smithfield where he has been for the past 17 years. After being together for 24 years he married Candy Graham on April 20, 2024, and she survives of the home. Also surviving are five children; Brayden Cooper (Makina) of Milan, Mo, Amanda Cooper (Marcus) of Richmond, Missouri, Jessica Mack (Bear) of Richmond, Mo, Amanda Cassity (Aaron) of Milan, Mo and Alisha Graham (Joe) of Harden, Mo, grandchildren; Rynlea, Vaida, Jase, Jacob, Clairabel, Brody, Bennett, Lindsey, Kaylea, Josslynn, Hunter, Ryder and Alaynah, siblings; Maxine Rogers of Purdin, Mo, Linn (Tom) Woolf of Trenton, Mo, George Henry Cooper Jr (Liz) of Richmond, Mo, Anna Lora Riggen of Milan, Mo, father in law; Gail Fitzpatrick of Booneville, Mo, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Charlie loved the outdoors. He enjoyed taking his children and grandchildren hunting and fishing. He loved to ride his Harley Davidson Motorcycle. He most of all loved spending time with family and friends.
A Visitation for Charlie will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Ruschmeier-Smith Funeral home in Milan, Missouri from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM. A private family burial will take place following the visitation at Henry Cemetery.
