John William McCullar
December 27, 1950 – May 8, 2025
John William McCullar, 74 of Glenwood, Missouri passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at the Schuyler County Nursing Home in Queen City, Missouri where he had been a resident since 2020.
The son of George Austin and Jennie Lynd (Harden) McCullar, he was born on December 27, 1950 in Elgin, Illinois. John graduated from Selma Union High School in Selma, in 1970. John fulfilled the correspondence requirements for ministry through Berean College in the 1980’s.
John was united in marriage to Robin Lynne (Boyd) on June 11, 1982 in Glenwood, Missouri at the Assembly of God Church and to this union one child was born, Roberta. Following his marriage in 1982, he was the Associate Pastor of the Glenwood Assembly of God Church where he also was the Youth Pastor and Co-Pastor. In 1982-1993 John was a Monitor and Youth Pastor of the Glenwood Christian School.
John is survived by his wife, Robin McCullar of Lancaster, Missouri; one daughter, Roberta Ragland and husband, Chuck; two granddaughters, Chelsea and Chloe Ragland; one uncle, Billy Skipper of Mount Carroll, Illinois; two special cousins, Pat McCullar from San Francisco, California
and Vicki La Freniere and husband, Barry from Black Diamond, Washington; other family members and many good friends.
John is preceded by his parents.
John helped Robin at the Glenwood Christian School for 10 years. During his many years of ministry, John was also employed at McDonald’s in three different states. He loved watching “I Love Lucy” and “The Honeymooners.” John will be remembered for his friendly smile, his memory for dates and events and his love of history, gospel music, people, his granddaughters and God.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 12, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri with Reverend Michael Holman of Kansas City, Missouri officiating and Reverend Tracy Cook of Columbia, Missouri assisting. Special music selections will be “Old Country Church,” “Eastern Gate” and “I Bowed On My Knees and Cried Holy.” Pianist and soloist for “I Bowed On My Knees and Cried Holy” will be Rick and Ruthie Addison. Pallbearers will be Daniable McGruder, Tim Spencer, Chris Fowler, Donald Hurley, Eric Jackson and Brenden Harris. Honorary pallbearers will be Loren Weilbrenner, David Weilbrenner, Gary Carter, Charlie Thompson, Shawn Morris and Jeff Morris. A daughter’s tribute will be given by Roberta Ragland. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 12, 2025 between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. at Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri. Memorials have been established for the Assembly of God Church in Glenwood, Missouri. Burial will be at the Glenwood Cemetery in Glenwood, Missouri.
