Chiefs head coach Andy Reid doesn’t have a timetable for Rashee Rice’s return, but said Monday the wide receiver is progressing.
Reid offered injury updates on both Rice and tight end Jared Wiley on Monday. Both players suffered season-ending knee injuries last season.
The Chiefs kicked off Phase 1 of their offseason program Monday with virtual meetings.
For the next two weeks, NFL teams are restricted to meetings, strength and conditioning work and rehabilitation — no football-specific activities are allowed. Phase 1 is optional.
After this week’s NFL Draft, the team’s newest rookies will kick off camp May 24. The Chiefs will hold a series of organized team activities, or OTAs, in late May and early June. Mandatory minicamp starts June 17.
