KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – The Kansas City Royals dodged a major bullet 10 days ago when shortstop phenom Bobby Witt Jr. suffered a bruise after he was hit by a pitch. Now they hope another young star will avoid a significant injury at Spring Training.
First baseman Vinnie Pasquantino left Saturday’s game after suffering a right hamstring strain while running out a double play. The Royals stated that Pasquantino will continue to be evaluated.
Pasquantino told MLB.com reporter Anne Rogers that he felt fine.
Pasquantino missed the final five weeks of the regular season before returning to the club for the American League Wild Card Round against the Baltimore Orioles.
In 2024, Pasquantino slugged 19 home runs, had 30 doubles and drove in 97 runs. He led the major leagues in sacrifice flies with 13.
