The Kirksville Lady Tigers snapped a three game slide and stayed on top of the conference race with a 67-61 win over Mexico Friday. Kirksville started off hot, taking a 24-13 lead after the first period. Mexico fought back to tie the game at 32-32 at the half. A strong third quarter by Paishynce Fouts saw KHS outscore the Bulldogs 21-12. Fouts poured down 12 points in the third along with a couple of huge three’s to give KHS a 53-44 lead going into the fourth quarter. Eva Danielson hit two big free throws late, and Fouts grabbed a late rebound, got fouled, and made two free throws of her own to hold Mexico off at the end. Fouts led the way with 23 points, Danielson 16, Chloe Carter 13, and Megan Kinney 11. KHS made a perfect 10 out of 10 at the stripe, with Fouts going 6 for 6. The Lady Tigers climb to 8-7, 4-1 in the NCMC. Next, another home date Tuesday against arch rival Moberly.
