Chiefs Fortson Done For Season

The Kansas City Chiefs lost tight end Jody Fortson for the season due to an injury late in Sunday’s 27-20 win over the Las Vegas Raiders.

Fortson, attempting to recover an onside kick in the game’s final minute, tore his ACL and meniscus, he revealed in an Instagram story Wednesday.

Fortson was signed by the Chiefs on Sept. 26 after being released by the Miami Dolphins in August. After joining the practice squad, he was signed to the active roster on Oct. 4 and appeared in each of the Chiefs’ last three games.

He had one reception for five yards in those three games.

With Fortson headed to season-ending injured reserve, his vacant roster spot was filled by defensive end Joshua Uche, who Kansas City traded a 2026 sixth-round pick to the New England Patriots to acquire on Monday.
