Wentz To Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs have a new backup quarterback for the second straight season.

Kansas City is reportedly signing former Philadelphia Eagles, Indianapolis Colts, Washington Commanders and Los Angeles Rams quarterback Carson Wentz to a one-year deal.

The former second overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft has started 95 career games but spent much of the past two seasons as a backup for the Commanders and Rams.

Wentz is a one-time Pro Bowler, earning the accolade in 2017 with the Eagles when former Andy Reid assistant Doug Pederson was Philadelphia’s head coach.

He’ll replace Blaine Gabbert as the backup to three-time Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes.
