The Kirksville Tigers once again locked down a victory at the free throw line in the fourth quarter and beat Hannibal 64-51 Thursday. KHS led by one point at the end of the third quarter 42-41. Then Jace Kent caught fire in the fourth, scoring 9 of his 18 points including a monster 3 pointer. Justin McKim also knocked down two big threes. But it was at the free throw line that the Tigers put it away, going 9 for 10. Kent made two from the stripe in the fourth, McKim also made two, and Cole Kelly made four. For the night, KHS was 20 for 24 at the stripe, Hannibal 5 for 11. Kelly also finished with 18, McKim with 12. KHS climbs to 16-8 overall and a second place finish in the NCMC at 8-2. Carson Kelly suffered what’s being called a sprained ankle very late in the game. A very unfortunate injury, his status is not known for districts. Next, the Tigers play Moberly Tuesday in Centralia at 6:00, pregame at 5:45.
