The Kirksville Tigers led Chillicothe by eight points at the break, but Jaishon White put on a clinic on how to play center in the third quarter and the Hornets beat the Tigers in overtime 70-65. White scored 10 of his 19 points in the third. All five of Chillicothe’s starters finished in double figures. Cole Kelly came up with a big steal late in regulation to help send the game into OT, but the Hornets scored first in the extra session and statistically, the team that scores first goes on to win the game. Kelly scored all 6 of Kirksville’s overtime points. Chillicothe went to the free throw line 26 times, making 16, Kirksville was a perfect 12 for 12 at the stripe. KHS slips to 14-8 and will host Marshall for part two of Senior Night Tuesday.
