The Kirksville Lady Tigers played well in the second half, but had already dug themselves too big of a hole and lost to Monroe City 45-32. KHS trailed 31-7 at halftime and would outscore the Lady Panthers 25-14 in the second half, keyed by the fight of Megan Kinney and Jersey Herbst. Kinney scored 10 of her 11 points in the fourth quarter, Herbst would score 10 on the night, four in the fourth. Monroe City’s Naaron Hays led all scorers with 13. Paishynce Fouts will apparently be held out for at least the remainder of the regular season with shin splint issues, so our already thin bench will be tested even further. But the Lady Tigers showed fight and grit in the second half Monday night. They drop to 7-14 on the year and will head to Milan Tuesday. The Tigers will host Keokuk Tuesday night, KIRX will cover the boys game Tuesday at 7:05.
