KHS Tigers Ride Free Throw Shooting To Beat Hornets

The Kirksville Tigers had a tough battle on their hands with the Fulton Hornets, but for the second straight game the Tigers put the game away at the free throw line and won 71-55. Kirksville only led by four at the end of the third quarter, then watched Fulton get to within one before KHS made eleven out out twelve free throws in the fourth quarter to pull away. Justin McKim made four out of four from the stripe in the fourth, Gavin Pike was 3 for 4, Jace Kent and Cole Kelly 2 for 2 in the fourth. McKim was on fire from the opening tip and scored 34 points on the night. Fulton’s Rowdy Gohring made five 3-pointers on his way to 24 points. KHS climbs to 13-7 on the year, 6-2 in the NCMC. Next, Kirksville welcomes Keokuk to town Tuesday for a JV/Varsity boys doubleheader, coverage of the varsity game at 7:05. The girls have a road trip at Milan scheduled for Tuesday night.
