The Kirksville Tigers rode a big 4th quarter to a 61-50 victory over Moberly Tuesday night. The game was a see-saw battle until KHS took over in the fourth, outscoring the Spartans 21-12 and put the game away at the free throw line. Cole Kelly gave the Tigers a two point lead at the buzzer ending the third when he missed twice underneath, but the third rebound by Kelly found its way home and gave KHS a 40-38 lead. Gavin Pike took control in the fourth with seven huge points, including a layup right after a missed free throw that gave Kirksville a three point lead. Jace Kent made five out of six free throws in the fourth to keep the Tigers in the lead, Justin McKim made three free throws in the fourth, and Kelly chipped in with a couple as Kirksville 11 for 18 at the stripe in the fourth quarter. Pike led all scorers with 18 points, McKim with 11, Carson Kelly with 10. KHS gets to 9-5 on the year, 3-2 in the NCMC and will be part two of Friday’s Courtwarming double header against Hannibal.
