Jets Down Blues

Winnipeg 5 – ST. LOUIS 2…  Kyle Connor scored a pair of goals and the Jets got a goal and an assist from Mark Scheifele in downing the Blues. Neil Pionk and Cole Perfetti also scored for Winnipeg.

 

Tampa Bay 5 – MONTREAL 3…  Nicholas Paul scored twice, Nikita Kucherov had a goal and an assist and the Lightning topped the Canadiens. Goalie Matt Tomkins made 22 saves in his first NHL win.

CAROLINA 3 – Buffalo 2 (OT)… Martin Necas scored 90 seconds into overtime to lift the Hurricanes over the Sabres. Tony DeAngelo and Brady Skjei also scored in regulation. Skjei also had an assist.

Minnesota 4 – N.Y. ISLANDERS 2…  Kirill Kaprizov netted a tie-breaking goal in the third period and Joel Eriksson Ek scored again on the next shot as the Wild pulled past the Islanders. Eriksson Ek also had an assist. Patrick Maroon scored a goal and assisted on another.

N.Y. RANGERS 5 – Detroit 2… Vincent Trocheck found the net twice in leading the Rangers past the Red Wings. Chris Kreider and Artemi Panarin had a goal and an assist. Erik Gustafsson set up two goals.

CALGARY 4 – Nashville 2… The Flames skated past the Predators after spotting them an early two-goal lead. Blake Coleman scored a tie-breaking goal in the third period. Nazem Kadri scored an empty-net goal and had an assist.

ARIZONA 4 – Seattle 3 (SO)… Nick Bjugstad scored the lone goal in the shootout to push the Coyotes past the Kraken. Clayton Keller netted a tying goal early in the third period and had an assist. Nick Schmaltz assisted on two goals.

COLORADO 6 – New Jersey 3… The Avalanche scored three unanswered goals in the third period to double up on the Devils. Mikko Rantanen scored on a power play and added an empty-netter to go with an assist. Nathan MacKinnon and Miles Wood each had a goal and an assist.

Pittsburgh 2 – ANAHEIM 0… Radim Zohorna’s first-period goal provided all the offense the Penguins needed in their blanking of the Ducks. Sidney Crosby added an empty-netter. Goalie Tristan Jarry made 21 saves before leaving with a cut near his right eye. Magnus Hellberg replaced him and made 11 more stops to preserve the shutout.

SAN JOSÉ 2 – Philadelphia 1… William Eklund’s power-play goal in the second period proved to be the difference as the Sharks held off the Flyers for their first win in 12 games this season. Anthony Duclair found the net 1:43 into the contest. Mackenzie Blackwood made 38 stops at goal.
