DETROIT 8 – Kansas City 0… The Tigers finished off the Royals in a contest that was suspended due to rain on Wednesday night with the Tigers leading 6-0 in the sixth inning. Jake Rogers capped the scoring with a two-run homer in the eighth.
DETROIT 7 – Kansas City 3… The Tigers came alive to score all seven runs in the bottom of the seventh inning and erase a 3-0 deficit on their way past the Royals. Spencer Torkelson’s three-run homer capped the uprising. Matt Vierling stroked a two-run single.
The Royals return home for the final series of the season hosting the Yankees tonight at 7:10.
